Facial Fat Injections in Bayonne, NJ

Mature woman looking in the mirror at fresh facial volume after fat injections

Facial fat injections can help restore soft volume when aging, weight changes, or genetics leave your face looking thinner than you prefer.

At Pelosi Medical Center in Bayonne, New Jersey, we help you understand what’s causing these changes and which options could fit your goals. Dr. Marco Pelosi III brings more than 25 years of cosmetic surgery experience to procedures that support natural-looking facial and body contours. He is board-certified in obstetrics and gynecology, post-graduate trained in cosmetic surgery, and recognized internationally for his work as an educator, innovator, and cosmetic surgeon.

Facial fat injections fit within Dr. Pelosi’s broader cosmetic approach to facial contouring.

What Can Facial Fat Injections Treat?

You may be interested in facial fat injections if your face has started to look thinner, flatter, or less soft than it once did.

We may recommend this treatment for concerns such as:

  • Cheeks that look flatter or less full
  • Hollow temples
  • Hollowing near the lower eyelids or upper cheeks
  • Deeper folds around the nose and mouth
  • A thinner or more angular lower face
  • Mild contour irregularities from aging or weight loss

Facial Fat Injections vs. Dermal Fillers

Dermal fillers and facial fat injections can both add volume, but they aren’t the same treatment.

Fillers use injectable products that your body gradually absorbs. Facial fat injections use your own fat, and some of that transferred fat may remain long-term once it establishes a blood supply.

Dr. Pelosi can help you compare your options based on your facial anatomy, how much volume you want to restore, and whether you prefer a surgical or nonsurgical treatment.

Who Is a Good Candidate?

You may be a good candidate for facial fat injections if you have visible facial volume loss and enough donor fat to transfer.

We also want to make sure you are in stable health, have realistic expectations, and want a natural option for restoring facial fullness.

This treatment may be especially helpful if you have noticed facial thinning after weight loss or age-related changes. It may not be the right fit if you want a temporary treatment, have very little donor fat, or need a different facial procedure to meet your goals.

What Is Recovery Like?

Your recovery will depend on how much fat we transfer and where we remove the donor fat. You can expect swelling, bruising, and tenderness in both the treated facial areas and the donor area. These changes are part of normal healing.

You may notice more fullness at first because of swelling. As swelling improves, some of the transferred fat may also be naturally absorbed by your body. Your final result becomes clearer as healing continues and the remaining fat settles into place.
